SRC•DX™ is a revelation for software upscaling: a low RF noise USB to single or dual-coax S/PDIF bridge supporting 705.6/768kHz PCM thats fully compatible with FPGA-based upsamplers and high-end music servers. Eschewing a direct USB-to-DAC interface means the DAC's USB receiver chip is turned off—resulting in less internally generated RF noise. S/PDIF's self-clocking protocol is inherently much simpler than USB and SRC•DX's low power consumption lowers RF noise further still. This helps to elevate the quality of server-based sources so that HQPlayer, Roon, PGGB and other capable software can sound as good as possible.
SRC•DX is USB 2.0 class-compliant for plug-and-play operation with Windows, macOS and Linux—powered by the 5V USB port. A push-button selects standard or high level for signal compatibility with all DACs. Status LEDs indicate single-coax or dual-coax mode of operation. BNC connections ensure reliable transmission of high-speed digital audio.
SRC•DX is compatible with all PCM upsampling software however HQPlayer's two-million tap 'Sinc-L' PCM filter combined with 15th order 'LNS15' noise shaper are highly recommended for real-time streaming. For offline upsampling, use REMASTERO PGGB set to the maximum resolution allowed by your DAC.
SRC•DX affords more music lovers the experience of hearing endgame upscaling. Use optional (short) coax patch cables with DC•BLOCK filtering for connection to DAC inputs. Try OPTO•DX or OPTO•USB isolation for a level of transparency that is truly wondrous.
