PGGB-RT for foobar2000 has been updated to PGGB v7 core technology and has been overhauled to support 64-bit foobar plus improve performance and stability. Notable changes related to sound quality are the addition of 107-bit precision, 4M samples (Speed) mode and lossless EQ (convolution, parametric or a fixed 4-band):
- PGGB-RT's stream renderer architecture within foobar allows for a longer look-ahead window of track samples to be processed. At 107-bit precision this offers unmatched reconstruction accuracy compared to competitive foobar components (DSP, sample-rate-converter, etc.).
- Quality mode utilizes all samples in a track (typically several hundred million) for increased transparency, depth, layering and more accurate timbre. Speed mode now supports either a 1M or 4M sample window to provide outstanding sound quality while reducing processing delays. In both modes, pre-processing of the next track in the playlist provides a gapless playback experience on performant systems
- Equalization is now truly lossless: importing of convolution (impulse .wav) or parametric (.txt) files modifies the frequency response of the waveform without any of the negative effects of EQ on transparency. The results are outstanding ...and it all happens in real-time!
