My journey with AudioWise has been an exercise in discovering additional depth and layers of sound within a system that at each stage was fully satisfying before each add. First was adding OPTO-DX and DC-BLOCK between M-Scaler and Dave. The change was immediately noticeable: an equivalent uptick in SQ as when I originally added M-Scaler. Optical isolation was for real: adding more depth and weight to the sound, and more precise imaging.
Most recently, and more on a whim given the small investment, I added SRC-DX between my Phoenix USB and M-Scaler. SRC-DX converted my Phoenix USB signal to M-Scaler's digital coax input. I’d been reading about avoiding USB for a while, although not fully understanding the science (despite Dan’s patient explanation). At the same time, I found a deal on WAVE STORM cables to connect OPTO-DX to Dave. This combination added substantial depth and width of the soundstage, all the while maintaining the sonic aspects of my system which I love. Again, my system was fully satisfying before this latest change. While the effect of the SRC-DX and WAVE STORM is cumulative (I’d suggest both if possible), the SRC-DX alone is well worth looking into. Bravo again!
